your cake looks exactly like some "stained glass" glycerin soap I recently recieved as a gift. It was made by a nun in St. Petersberg Florida. strange connections in blogland..

That "cake" looks amazing! How fabulous. One minor detail -- does it taste any good? Though I guess I should assume it tastes like Jell-O and Cool Whip, so it should be pretty predictable.
Anyway, thanks for being the test "baker"...

Something worth trying (if unfamiliar!) in the grilled cheese sandwich way: grated aged gouda, grilled between two slices of buttered bread. Possible additions that nicely complement: sprouts, thinly sliced tomato, both. One can jam some tuna salad in there, too, but then, strictly speaking, it's a different sandwich. If it's cold out, serve with tomato soup.
That cake...I fear I fear the cake.

Grilled cheese sandwiches? Damn. You've destroyed all my illusions about you and the kitchen in one fell swoop.
The cake definitely looks interesting -- I'm wondering if it's a dessert my father would actually go for given that there's nothing in it exactly.
