Oh yes I agree Virginia would have certainly preferred the 'new' library. I still giggle when I think of the outside, I mean yes lovely open space to meet and greet if only you could be heard above the noise of Euston road, yes lovely place to share a sandwich espresso etc if only you didn't have to take out a second mortgage to pay for these 'delights' and were not chewing on the grit from bus and taxi exhausts:0)
Inside it is all light and illumination just as if the fabulous works housed in there are powering some hidden current of energy.
Me and book residing places have a 'thing'; sexy does not come near to expressing the buzz but where as the old reading room was gothic in every sense of the word the 'new' releases the energy with such verve that this one time regular reader got very hot and bothered the first time she met the pulse of the 'new':0)
Public transport and Wisbech oh my that is a very good joke, best one today. May your brouges be laced tight and your staff held firmly in your continuing quest.
