Okay. Maybe I'm not sorry about choosing a scholarly career path that will not lead me to the Wisbech and Fenland Museum.
But I'm still hoping for a trip to Milledgeville or Santa Fe.

Oh, Jenny, you know very well what you have to do in order to be required to go to Santa Fe to do research.

Ha! Ha ha!
Sorry. my little joke there.
And really, you'd end up in Taos.
Though, doncha know, that'd be fine, wouldn't it?

I'm still waiting for my scholarly study of Latin to lead me to Rome... or my husband's study of Old Norse to lead him (and me, of course, or what would be the point?) to Iceland... but for now, I can be satisfied by living vicariously through you, since you make it all sound so exciting. Books! In Basements! Written in Dead Languages and Illegible Scripts! Be still my heart... I think I need to go lie down now...

That was way, way too much knitting content. Don't ever do that again. I can't take it.....
Oh, and contextually, I know what a fen is. But really, exactly, what is one? I could google it, but it would be MUCH more fun for you to tell me when you have internet time to do so...
