Gravatar oh, sigh. The Aquarium, and Slightly North of Broad. YES. Must put Seasonal Archeology Stalking on the list of Must Do Next Time if I can rouse myself from the hammock and my knitting...which is all I do in Charleston...eat, watch FISH, hold down the hammock, and knit. Honestly, it's exhausting....but SOMEBODY has to do it!
We drove past LOTS of kudzu yesterday on the way to our college visit....and thought of you!

Gravatar Ah, Percherons. My mother grew up spendng a lot of time at a nearby farm, where they had Percherons to do a lot of the work. Ever since I can remember, when we've gone to the local annual agricultural fair (local, ha - it's a two-hour drive), she has to stop by the horse stalls last thing and pet every single Percheron.

My mother is 5'0". It's amusing. It touches my heart, too, to see her reaching up to pet not the physical horse in front of us, but a horse whom she knew sixty years ago, in another place. To see her touch her past like that makes my throat close up and my eyes sting suddenly.
