My, that *was* a lovely fit. I will have to produce more plays and not tell you about auditions, so that we can continue to enjoy your clear snit-throwing talents.
Mercutio is certainly the most enjoyable character in the play. His death is such good stuff, except that since he's dead we don't get to appreciate his wit for the remaining hour.

i also wanted to play mercutio! when my chance came, i was cast as juliet, and my taller, deeper voiced female friend jacquie got to play mercutio. sigh.

I think I may be the only actor in the free world who has never wanted to be in a production of "Romeo and Juliet." It's just so damn depressing. I mean, hell, can't we change the ending a bit? Everyone KNOWS that they DIE... why do people go to see the show at ALL? Goodness. It'd be a real shocker if we just up and had them live and honeymoon in the Dominican.
Now THAT would be clever.
