Gravatar The scariest part is that the yarn is well within a grad student's yarn budget.

But I think I'd better stay out of this one. I did, however, happily provide some circular needles last week--they could be put to this purpose, I'm sure.

Gravatar Oh I almost DIED when I saw that chicken hat!!!! And I wouldn't put one on my child either!!

Cheryl

Gravatar Oh. my.

Must . . . knit . . . raw . . . chicken . . . viking . . . hat.

I'd have to upsize it for my 50-year-old brother, though. He needs this!

Gravatar I have to say, the vision of all of us knitting the raw chicken Viking hat while listening to papers is possibly the best one ever.

Gravatar Can the person READING the paper actually WEAR a raw chicken Viking hat? Ah, I am picturing it now, and it is Bringing Me Joy.

Gravatar Oh, that would have been perfect today. Alas, I only worked on a sock in blinding color combinations at the colloquium I went to today. In engineering, that gets plenty of looks on its own, let me tell you.

But a chicken--that would have started conversations!

Gravatar we've already warned the other junior professors: "she's nice, but just keep an eye on her whereabouts at parties."

Gravatar Thank you for the chicken link! Much better than the cutesy-wutesy bunny ear hats, imo!

Gravatar Best link EVER.

Gravatar heyyyy!!! now i'm the worst person ever for knitting the cutesy-wutesy bunny hat instead of the chicken hat!! in my defense, i didn't see the chicken hat until the bunny hat was completed. but i WILL knit the chicken hat, oh yes i will....
