Gravatar Can I just add my "wow!" to Sam and the child's? It is beautiful.
Oh, and Alton Brown is my hero. Just saying.

Gravatar Adding my "wow" to those of the admiring throng. Plus a "huzzah". Although that's really for the boxers.

Salt? The man completely turned me around on salt- I actually use it when I cook now. But what about the roasted eggs? Such a marvelous thing for egg-salad and Easter eggs!

I too am being side-tracked from my knitting- but by bobbin-lace and sewing. (My band sampler is languishing though.) Perhaps it's the onset of Spring?

Gravatar The Angel of Love is beautiful - and a real labor of love. I've stitched reproduction samplers on linen (the ones with backwards letters or words going through the borders are my favorites), but I've never tackled anything like your Angel.

Gravatar I haven't x-stitched with beads as yet but have looked at patterns like this one. I too knit, sometimes.

Gravatar I'll third (or is it fifth?) the "Wow." Especially as I have a very small piece of the dress of the Guardian Angel by the same designer stuffed somewhere in a drawer. I once did a huge wedding gift and swore off cross-stitch for life. I repented and started the angel, and remembered why I swore off cross-stitch. Am now happily smocking my heart out between knitting.

Gravatar Beautiful, just beautiful! A total WOW! I have returned to work today from a sort of mini-vacation--two days of it imposed by the dreaded strep throat! It was the most awful thing. Then we went to Pittsburgh to see the production of Midsummer...hmmmm....are you going to see it/have you seen it? Let's discuss...very interesting. Emma was lovely. It was a whirlwind trip. We had a nice visit with my Mom (it was just Nell and me) and returned yesterday.

Anyway! Lovely textiles. I have been crocheting. I always have on and off throughout my life--my grandmother did it. Once you get into the groove it is kind of a mindless activity.

God Bless and take care!
Rose

Gravatar What a beautiful, beautiful piece of work. I can see why it's taking so long to do. I'm barely able to cross-stitch, so I am in total awe of your beading abilities. The angel's gown reminds me of Klimt's painting, "The Kiss."
