I once attended a shower where (no kidding) they microwaved different candy bars (until they became unrecognizable brown masses), placed each in a numbered diaper, and invited us to guess the brand of candy. I presume, by smelling.
I have always had a strong gag reflex; it took me several weeks (at least) to be able to even think about eating chocolate again.
The Raw Chicken Viking Hat is a subject of much debate at House Subdivided. I love it -- Mrs. Sub-D, well, not so much.
Congrats on finishing it, though. If I recall correctly, the drumsticks are the challenging part. I'd never have the patience for such a thing...

I adore the hat. Probably because it's a riot on top of it having some sort of cultural-historical merit. Gives it Depth and Dignity.
No games to be played at my shower either. Terribly undignified. We will gorge on cake and other ill-inducing delicacies instead.
