We loved that one, too. Glad you're sharing the movie news. Don't know if I'll get to see the Star Wars, either. Jonathan is currently refusing to go with me since I laughed through Episode II at the horrible writing and scary "romantic" scenes.
In other movie news of great interest to you, your favorite Flannery O'Connor/John Huston film is playing at the Warhol on July 1 and 2. Check out today's Post-Gazette arts section.
Maybe I'll see you there.

i saw star wars this morning, and although it wasn't up to the standards of the first three, it was good. very intense. my big objection was to the very beginning. there was so much pyrotechnics you couldn't see the real action. and i thought they went on too far for the ending. we all know who got which baby, etc, etc, ad nauseum. oy. still, better than the first two of this current series. and it scared my sons who have seen the first two. goodness.

Ah, the New Yorker.
Oy, dat reviewah, always good for a laugh, he is...
We saw the film this weekend, and quite frankly, loved the beeping trash can, the gay gold guy, and most especially YODA, who, with the wave of his little hand, had the whole theatre laughing out loud.
Some of it was dark and scary, but for all of the right reasons.
My dear daughter bird's comment was...
*Absolute power corrupts absolutely...let's go eat Italian food!*

I really liked the review too.
I saw Episode III yesterday. Building on the whole sonogram thing that he mentions, there are some things that happen because Anakin is worried about Padme's pregnancy. As that motivation got stronger and stronger, I kept wondering how the whole movie would have been different if he'd bought her some prenatal vitamins and insisted that she have a good medical examination rather than Doing The Things He Did.

Out loud I am laughing.
I get the New Yorker (wellofcourseIdo) but sometimes I need a bit of a push to actually read it.

Out of the movie early, my buddy walked.
I told him he hadn't missed anything. First movie I've ever went to which was so dull that having the female lead die in childbirth gave me a feeling of relief that it would soon be over.

I loved that review. The little blurb they've put into the front section (is that the part called "Around Town"?) is funny also, but not nearly as much as the review in toto.
