Gravatar Anne and Sam,
The chimney swifts are another sign to you. Think of the first flight of the fledgling chimney swift; a vertical ascent in the confined space of the chimney for his/her first sight of the world. He/she is not daunted, and neither should you be.

Gravatar If you occupy the house maybe the wildlife will feel it's less cozy for them.

Just keep a tennis racket handy in case of bats. (I know, you'd think it would be a bat that would be handy, but I think a tennis racket works better for shooing.) xox Kay

Gravatar I find a snow shovel is good for bats; it has better reach and surface area than a tennis racket.

Also: Totally Exhausted Chimney, (412) 741-5485. I've been very happy with them.
