Department of Semantic Quibbling: I don't agree with the one about the doctor at the opera house, because he's not doing it because he wants to. I have a friend who's an eye surgeon, and each year he and his wife (an anesthesiologist) go on a trip to Vietnam and do free cataract surgeries. While there, they buy lots of local crafts and enjoy the food and hospitality. Definitely a busman's holiday. (Yes, they have visible haloes, these friends. But they truly have a blast doing this, as they enjoy fixing up eyes. There is nothing like it, apparently, for sheer funfunfun.)
For that matter, I don't agree that YOU'RE on a busman's holiday. You might be acting all cheerful about it, but it's not like you're at Yaddo and they're making you lunch and keeping everything nice and quiet for you while you write!
But, you know, have fun and everything.
xoxo Kay

re: __busman's holiday/honeymoon__
or, the one that came to my mind:
dorothy l. sayers' lord peter wimsey has a romp in an ancient farmhouse (seems to be an illusion to your own now-infamous retreat, no?).
