Gravatar Don't know if this will apply to your situation, but I think when my James was neutered, they, I don't know, left behind a partial testicle or something, or he matured before we hauled him to the vet. James never went through that I'm-a-corpulent-king phase that most toms experience after getting snipped, and occasionally (usually only when stressed) he releases some kind of oily stinky spray that makes his litterbox smell like manna from heaven. So. My experience - snip early and thoroughly. Hope Thursday isn't too late!

Gravatar ROFL! I remember watching a pair of leopards "dancing" at the Stone Zoo a few years ago. She would walk past him, brushing his nose with her tail and then flop (enticingly!) just out of reach whilst giving him that "come hither" look. He (poor fool) would approach only to have his nose swatted and her move another foot or so away. Except for the size (well, and the spots, I guess) they were just like my own house cats.

Gravatar Thoroughly being the important word. Our vet (old geezer that died shortly thereafter) missed a teensy ovary in our six-month Maine Coon mix, who eventually decided the chair legs, the vacuum cleaner, etc, would appreciate her Carmen Miranda act. Hour upon hour, for days straight, complete with tongue-rolling clicks, and slinky hip rolls. She was a very tired puss when her hormones finally let her go.

I can't imagine the Siamese version, and wouldn't wish it on any non-insomniac-type people.

Gravatar Good luck on the surgery...hope it's not too late!

Gravatar Poor, poor Lila. You know how happy she's going to be when you haul the kittens off to the vet? Only to have her hopes thoroughly dashed when you bring them back.

The birdcage is more secure, I hope? As I imagine the budgies are too.

Gravatar The 18 month old Turkish Angora I just adopted went into yowling, howling, gaze-out-the-window, make love to the floor mode last week. I am counting the days until her little appointment ....

Gravatar Spring is in the air here too...though it's Banon trying to give Rhys puppies at present or clinging on to his bits whilst he just grins inanely. They are not quite old enough for the op but development and developments are finely blanced so the vet and I have a continuing dialogue going on Just hoping Rhys continues to just look bemused for a few more weeks.
Having them both wearing lampshades will be such fun! Not.

Gravatar good god, i would rather hack my ears off with size 2 sock needles than listen to a siamese in heat. poor you

Gravatar Thank you so much for the kitty pictures! I have been lurking around your blog for a while, and I'm a big fan of Siamese cats.
We had a cat who was only part Siamese, and his yowls when his dinner was late were terrifying - I can only imagine what a Siamese on heat would be like!

Gravatar I found YOU and your blog - how delightful! I am dying to get ahold of you as I miss chatting and I am wanting to come for a visit at your bossy house.

Love to you,
Jezebel

Gravatar It's my theory that if I'm going to have a pair of incompatible animals in the house that involve a cat, the cat needs to be prey. Sure, the cat's trainable... sorta... but the cat is both faster than pretty much everything else (including the budgies I've had) and has a built-in "heh heh heh I'm feeling naughty" mode.

Gravatar Kittens! Still! So cute. I love Siamese.

And I just realized I'm in the Seattle area, and you are in That Other City. Oh boy. ;D

Gravatar Oh, man! Now that they've learned how to work together, you are SO going to be living the "Lady & the Tramp" scenario. Now they just have to get some poor dog to take the blame...

Gravatar As much as it pains me, congrats on your upcoming Super Bowl appearance. Y'all deserve it and I do love Bettis even if I would have much rathered a different outcome in the Colts game.

Good luck with the cats. I've got my own home wildlife movie going on here but with dogs. Both of whom now outweigh the young human (actually, it turns out they both have since the little dog came home -- B lost a little weight due to his new and exciting activities).

Gravatar thanks for helping me with linking...this next year I'll figure out how to do pictures as well. good luck with the beasties.
love, deborah

Gravatar Never having had a kitten before, I though our calico was in pain, at first, but her Mata Hari dance at the window for the benefit of local toms soon re-educated me. And the older spinster cats are sorely tired of being propositioned. The op cannot come too soon.

You have (thinking) cats, and budgies? Are you insane?
