Gravatar Thank you! I don't know when I last had a good belly laugh. That is so funny. I am almost glad that you did not get a picture of the kitten's head through the hole because, well, I'd have to leave the room.

Gravatar Ah the stretch of a kitten arm! So funny. Too bad/good thing the floor broke.

Gravatar That is so cute and kitten-ish! You were right, you got some stories from it.

Gravatar hysterical simply and strikingly so!

Gravatar Gah. I spilled my cappuccino.

Thank you for the laugh; I needed to clear out some cobwebs!

Gravatar Here in Texas, all creatures great and small residing in Bear's Retreat would henceforth be known as the "Hole in the Floor" gang.

Gravatar Fabulously funny, Anne! Thanks for posting that great photo!

Gravatar You know, as soon as I read about the floor with a hole in it, I thought about those kittens. The picture was the perfect pay-off, though!

Gravatar I once lived in a house with a converted garage/bedroom that had a square opening in the ceiling giving access to the attic. When we moved in there were wasps in the attic, so -- since the original cover had disappeared -- we blocked the hole with cardboard.

After we'd been in the house a few months (and the wasps had been removed), the cats discovered what a delightful place to play the attic was. I happened to be passing by one day when one of them made the mistake of stepping on the cardboard blocking the hole.

Whoomp!

.... as the cat rode the cardboard to the floor, looking VERY surprised!

Gravatar So how are Chaos and Destruction (aka Chanthra and Dara) doing after their surgeries? Well I hope - I've been thinking about the little dears today. I'll bet it's a LOT quieter around there today!!

Gravatar Bwaaahaaahaaa!

I find this very amusing. The knittens have commanded me to immediately move to a House With A Hole In The Floor.

Feh. They'll have to amuse themselves with the linen closet for a little longer.

Sasha just thinks it's all silly as she is a dignified ten (or eleven) years old and All Grown Up (despite the obsession with string).

Gravatar Almost the same thing has happened to us more than once in our old house ... a replaced 4" plug of floorboared near the wall under the bed ... the bed moving toward plug in increments without our realizing it ... then CRASH! one night the leg of the bed going through. It happened to my cousin and his wife once when they were visiting. He said, "I hate to think what you probably though we were doing!"
