Carl Andy!! Wow, I see you in that face, so very clearly. Your dad is the cutest but Carl Andy has that cousin of the fey, deep knowing, all seeing eye look on his face. What a doll!
Thanks for sharing these, they're fabulous.

I can say without fear of hyperbole or even over-exaggeration based on contractual obligation (for--as it is much-advertised--I am no longer contractually obligated) that you Brannens are one crazy-cute group. Seriously. Cute kids who turn into cute adults and write things that are so smart that they make my eyes glaze over just reading the abstracts. Also, is it wrong to think that the 1936 version of your dad looks a wee bit like Dennis the Menace? $20 says that he had a frog in his pocket on at least 5 non-consecutive occasions.

The pictures are incredible. Dad said that they cleaned up nicely but I had no idea.
Also, a friend gave me a cough drop that brought back memories of the garden in the back of the Tulane house. Sure enough, it contained horehound:

I personally think these photos must have been made before 1936. I was born in 1935 and your father has assured me on many occasions that his life was idyllic before I was born. From that look on his face, I think his life was idyllic at this time. Or, these could have been taken after the two of them decided to invent a new game of rolling the baby bed across the floor, with the baby in it, and jumping on for a ride. All went well until the bottom fell out of the baby bed and baby rolled, screaming, across the floor. I understand that caused great excitement with the grownups.
Aren't these photos wonderful? My two brothers were incredibly unusual people. One of them still is. I have adored both of them. Still do, as only a Baby Sister can.

Today is Memorial Day so Andy is much on my mind and in my heart. It changes a family forever and one never gets over it.
