I just can't believe that what I do to make the very practical mittens, hats, socks, and the occasional part of a sweater is, in any way, related to THAT.
Of course, I am the knitter fondest of navy blue or black yarn. Sometimes red, but not very often.
Gee, I kinda like the colors... But then I'm a quilter and I see the color placement first. I do wonder how she walks in it without tripping. Perhaps it's an attempt at a wear-it-all-the-time-so-you-never-have-to-dust swiffer??
The perpetrators of that atrocity sent out a mass mailing about their new website and offered me the rare opportunity to enter a drawing to win that very item.
I emailed them back and told them to remove me from their mailing list. Gah.

Do they WANT to kill the knitting "trend"? Maybe to make room for more scrapbooking junk (sorry, scrapbookers, but I'm just not into the hobby and it's frustrating to go to Major Craft Purveyor and find that, say, the DMC floss section has been replaced by more die-cut Disney Princess stickers For Your Memories Of Your Disney Trip!) or for some new craft-fad? Lampwork beads, maybe? Boondoggles? Shrinky-Dinks?
Because, if I were not a diehard knitter and I saw that monstrosity, I'd probably break all my needles in two and vow to devote my free time to, I don't know, watching reality tv?

Oh, and right! Hands-down, most worst. I've begun thinking of this type of knitting as Stunt-Knitting (see also knitted body parts, ferraris, WMDs, etc.), and have discussed with the smartest twin sisters in Austin--it's knitting, all right, but puh-leez!!! Hipsters everywhere are getting rather tiresome, and now that they have knitting needles...well. Puh-leez!
In a weird way, it's either the worst knitting or the best, I'm not sure which.
I've been trying to think up projects to use up some of my scraps, but THAT is. not. it.
