Gravatar Anne, you always seem to post when I need to read your very particular brand of wit.

Imperialist teadrinkers, indeed. (I'm so trotting that one out at a garden party. If I can find a garden party, that is. Everyone up here is also languishing under high heat and humidity warnings. You, your family, your acreage, and your fur children have our sympathy.)

Gravatar In your lively and eminently readable essay you state that "this was proof that the government meant what it said". Since it was a Whiskey Rebellion, shouldn't you have told us whether it was 80 or 100 proof?

Gravatar The McDonald's on Fort Couch road sits on the site of old Fort Couch, important in the rebellion. It's the food and drink connection again.

Gravatar Hysterical History? History as Hysteria? Gotta love it!

Gravatar Two hundred and some odd years later, the road improvements are debatable.

Gravatar I never even picked up my rubber band. I wish you would write a history book about anything, really anything.

Shall we have another paragraph? Why not! Hey, your house was built in 1790? Wow!!

Gravatar That same tax on distillation yet exists. Part of my job has been filing the applications and paperwork for an ethanol fuel plant.

Carl

Gravatar Unrelated, but I saw this and thought of you - have you seen it?
