Gravatar I've never seen a Beckett play that couldn't have benefited (or at least have benefited the audience) by being shorter. Much, much shorter.

You are a far braver woman than am I.

Gravatar Everyone needs to go to a BeckettFest at least once, just to say we did.

Now you don't have to do it again. Ever.

Gravatar But *Breath* was longer!

Gravatar Ah, that's why I like Beckett...knew there was a reason other than Billie Whitelaw. Did Cindy get her own hole to stand in I wonder:0)

Gravatar This entry is so funny I almost wish I had attended the event. But one performance of Waiting for Godot back in '95 was enough for me.

Gravatar I remember reading Waiting for Godot in high school, and I was so disappointed.

Anyway, when we were in Ireland this year (I say that so casually, as though it happens all the time...) we went to Trinity College to see the Book of Kells. That was awesome, but what was even cooler was that the library that contained the Book of Kells also had a display of the personal papers of Samuel Beckett. There were handwritten letters, manuscripts, notes, published works, and other things all on display in glass cases in the Long Library. It was cool to happen across it!
