I had a ebay nightmare like this (very early rowan booklet selling for over $100 suddenly became a chew toy for the cat). I wouldn't turn your ktties into Dead Meat: they're too cute, too expensive, and probably too stringy to eat.

Ok, not really put off by the cats in the yarn.

Maybe it's the fact I have 7 cats and have detangled and cut out my share of cat-chewed fiber.
