Hi!
I am a friend of Julie E. Found your blog through hers. I recently moved far, far from Veritas Academy and I am now homeschooling. Next year I need to tackle Omnibus I. Any advice?
This is my first year homeschooling.

Ha, Snowbelle! Bet you never imagined that! By the way, the Coconut Chai is yummy!
Sherrill, welcome! My advice for Omnibus I? Start reading the books now! Seriously, keeping up (ahead!) of my children was the hardest part.

Out of all the books you have read so far for Omnibus, which one is your favorite (don't count ones you read before, except for the ones you read before but didn't really remember the story line)

My favorite is probably Till We Have Faces (CS Lewis).

well, this is a little gross, but yesterday I wiped my 2-year old's rear after a successful potty session while simultaneously nursing my 4-four month old, who was held by my other arm. I think the whole scene counts as one of those things I never guessed I'd be doing back when I was a "cool" high school student!

Twenty years ago I was just out of law school, working for a big firm. I thought I'd be a partner at a big firm, married to another lawyer. I never envisioned a non-lawyer husband, two elementary school age children, a house in the 'burbs, and a part time legal practice out of my home. I didn't get any of it right! BTW, I also never envisioned myself being passionate about politics or -- gasp! -- a conservative.

Twenty years ago, I was a striving Naval Officer. The first woman naval officer on my newly integrated ship. I was going to do great things and wanted to command an amphibious ship.
Instead, I am a navy wife. My Naval Academy education is in constant use teaching and leading three active boys.

Hey,
This is a first for me. One reason I'm doing it, I'm afraid, is that it's for an assignment for my ETEC (education technology) class. But cheer up, the reason I'm posting on THIS blog, and not on another, is because this seems pretty interesting... [I found it by clicking on "Till We Have Faces" by CS Lewis, one of my favorite books]
Twenty years ago? Hell, ten years ago, I was in LA, studying to be an acupuncturist. Single. Depressed. So pathetic, in fact, that my sarcastic roommates gave me a book called "On Love and Loneliness" by some Indian guru...
Within a few months of returning home to Hawaii, I had an office, and met the woman I would marry. Now, I have two kids, and while my acupuncture practice isn't exactly thriving, it pays the bills, and affords me the opportunity to do other things (like WRITE).
Well, it's been fun... Keep up the good blog!

Palmpapa, what? You thought you'd be playing golf all the time instead?
Jeanne, your life lately is surprising! But I'm glad to be part of it.
atlantagirl, aaaahhh. Skills only a mom could have!
Bookworm, I thought I'd be a career woman, too, and I couldn't be further from that.
Sebastian, "I was going to do great things and wanted to command an amphibious ship." Bet what you're doing now is harder!
Randy, welcome! Glad you stopped by!
