Gravatar I think the irony here is hilarious and increadibly appropriate.

I think the Dems should make one commercial after another about it.

The first one should be about the lack of research and care shown by his campaign.

The second should point out the irony that it was for an anti-depressant.

The third should point out that it represented, like so many things from the Republicans, lip-service and a placebo for actual treatment

And the last should say that this is representative of McCain's actual approach about change. His definition of 'what you deserve' is that you 'deserve' in his opinion, little to NO change. Very nice of him to decide for us, but thank you very much, we the people will decide how much change we need, and we see a need for a LOT - a LOT more than the republicans delivered in 7 years in power - and a LOT more than they desire - quite simply because they ARE the establishment, the corporate corruption- of course they don't want real change. McCain is just Bush warmed over... no real changes, just more lip-service, more placebos, more corruption and lack of fact finding.

Gravatar I like the unintentional comment on our ueber-corporate culture that the (TM) at the end of that slogan (and just about every slogan these days) provides. I can just see the commercial now:

"Wow, this Wyeth product is the change I deserve (TM)."

Maybe McCain should go with something like that for his post-convention election slogan:

"I'm not the change you want (TM), but I am the change you deserve (TM), so vote for me for President."

I'm sure the GOP would rather we not think about that one too much....

Gravatar Given that Flash has disclosed they work for pennies, and considering the quality of their work, "The change you deserve" sounds more like something MiniSoros Moneytor™ Sockpuppets© might see on their Soroschecks™.

Gravatar No one at MinMon receives a Soros check, but you know that. Soros is one of many contributors to Open Society, one of over 15 different organizations and thousands of other contributors to the CIM who in turn provide fellowships to MinMon fellows. Soros pennies is being generous. Take your factually deficient smears somewhere else. Mike Brodkorb, on the other hand, claims the 'independent' tag just like MinMon and has received direct cash payments from campaigns and the party itself and you find that just fine. All that shows is who you really are!

As for the topic of this screed, I can only respond:

"We're Loving It"TM *laughing*

Gravatar "No one at MinMon receives a Soros check, but you know that."

Direct deposit, huh?

Gravatar You're confusing them with Brodie. You musta got a nice bump yerself.

Gravatar I don't think so, Flash; let's check.

There's Brodie, and there's Sockpuppet.

Nope. I'm definitely talking about Sockpuppets here.

Gravatar "Venlafaxine "

Sounds like just the medication for
one of your most frequent critics
Sir!!

Gravatar Actually I like the slogan. It is more direct and meaningful than simply 'change' as not all change is good. It will help set the stage to define the difference between McCain and the liberal candidate and yes to define differences between McCain and Bush.

It is a smart move and as the race unfolds it will likely help McCain as the details of what his 'change' will be. Obama has lacked detail and when we get past the slogans this will be apparent.

To be sure the Democrat play will be the 'Bush warmed over' ploy but that won't hold the test of time as more people will see that McCain has clear proven differences from Bush and the party extremers and align very well with middle America where Obama does not.

The party will leverage this also to send a message of change from Democratic controlled congress...you know the ones that actually are responsible for our domestic laws and spending. If Bush has made mistakes in the executive branch and to be sure congress has screwed up the legislative. So we all agree we want 'change'.

It is like the MN school insurance pool bill just passed to be sent to the Governor (to be vetoed). They cry about change. The problem is that bill will actually increase cost but is being sold as 'Change' for the better. But the Change is only about EdMin control just like the federal level
it is all about control and not what is best for our country. The deciders will see this as the race unfolds and issues get discussed and impacts become apparent.

This strategy of beat up Bush and linkage to McCain will not have legs. It will rally your base but the strategic move by Democrats for the sake of 'change' to move their party even farther left with inexperienced unsustainable wish lists will be apparent to the middle and undecideds that McCain more represents the 'change they deserve'.
