This geneology stuff is quite interesting. I found myself looking into my own ancestry a few years ago; the more one does it, the more one's interest tends to expand.
Just a minor point, Flash--when a good friend of mine (from Canada) and I went to Ireland on a weekend trip (we were living in the U.K. at the time), he had a few too many Guinesses (Guinei?) and made the mistake of calling himself an "Irishman" because his ancestry is about 1/2 Irish.
The entirety of the pub laughed in his face.
It might behoove New World-ers to call ourselves "American with Irish ancestry" (or "Canadian with..."), or perhaps "Irish-American," and avoid monikers like "Irishman."
It's a minor point, but often Old Worlders find it a bit presumptive when New Worlders refer to themselves as "Irish" or "Polish" or "Italian," etc., etc., because, of course, you are what your culture is, first and foremost.
And we're Americans first and foremost; we are what our ancestry is in a secondary manner.

I miss her too..
This picture was taken St. Pats day
1991, when she was named St.Patrick's
Queen for the annual celebration in St.Peter, Mn.
She loved every minute of it.. *smile*
She was 83
