She's incredibly straight-forward in television interviews, and not in a manufactured Mike Huckabee "home-spun" way, either; her attitude seems (at least at this point) too serious to be disingenuous. I will be watching to see whether or not she can translate this positive characteristic into the sort of political gravitas one needs to be a heavy-hitter in the Senate (think of Joe Biden, John Warner, and Olympia Snowe, among others). It may be that she proves to come across to the Washingtonian sophisticates as too "Minnesota"-simplistic in her good intentions to be accepted into the center ring. If so, that would be a shame, because she may just have the political chops to not only be a good senator, but also one respected by her peers and listened to regarding political leadership issues, as well.
