Gravatar ". . . UKTV History series The Beatles Decade, which examines the divide between real and superficial social change at the time."

I'd like to see that; I think we believed that we were living in a new age, we didn't actually have to DO anything to affect real social change, it was writ in the stars and couldn't NOT happen.
It's a bit hard to bullshit the kids about that.
As for the sex, drugs, and rock and roll, I've never felt the need to "embroider" the facts--although some people might think I am--1969 was the most amazing year of my life, but at the time I was sure it was going to be that way forever. So going to a Jimi Hendrix concert, or the Doors or Janis Joplin, at the time was no big deal, just another Saturday night in Hippyland . . .

Gravatar Hi John,

Whilst I was about in the 60's, I wasn't old enough to "appreciate" it properly.

Older friends are fond of reminiscing!

Gravatar I had tickets to see the Beatles, in 1966, but I gave them away, because I had other plans. Do you see, I was that confident that there would be another opportunity to see them in concert, down the road.
Seems to be my weird, that nothing ever works out the way I think it will--

Gravatar That's a great shame.

A former business partner of mine was from Liverpool and saw The Beatles at The Cavern several times.

As I was often reminded!

I met Paul McCartney once under bizarre circumstances and met Harry Harrison, George's brother a few times. He's a character!
