Gravatar I have checked both web sites and it seems to be a genuine story - I have logged on to the Sun web site by an old link to make sure that I have not been looking at a copycat site and the story is there but reading some of the other stories I get the impression the Sun site has been hacked, either that or Sun reporters were having a ball over the weekend with all sorts of strange substances (maybe that's nothing new!)

Gravatar Hi Dr. A,

The 'drunk' story is reported in today's Observer also ...

And the Mail ...

Gravatar Hi.

I have been told that the full story (including an exclusive interview with Mr Sumpter [the car owner]) will be published in tomorrows (Monday 11th Dec.) Sun newspaper.

From the people I have spoken to, this story is true, and that the bishop really did have one too many.

Hope this helps!

Gravatar Thanks for that Anonymous.

Gravatar Thanks for the links - saw the full story on the Times online, http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2- 2497754,00.html which reports both of the alleged incidents.

Gravatar Hi Dr. A,

I think it's looking increasingly possible that The Reverend had maybe partaken of a little too much beverage!

I'm not sure what happened to the link you posted. I can't click on it, and when I copy and pasted it I get a 404 page. That's probably because of the commas in it. Did you type it out yourself?

Cheers!

Gravatar I agree with you Arbroath re the rev - I'm sure he won't be able to live it down for quite a while. I copied and pasted the html link for the Times into the comments and get the same 404 error as you when I try it but if I use the Times search facility it finds it and gives me that selfsame url. Weird - to say the least.
OK - just tried further - the ,00 should not appear in the url, also an embedded space gets replace with %20.
So make sure last bit of the url is 0,,2-2497754.html (no space,no %, and no ,00)

Gravatar don't know what's happening in the comments here -- tried to post the url again and for some reason it stuck in a blank after the 2-

Ah well! I think you know how to access it now.

Gravatar Hi Dr. A,

I'm not sure why the link isn't posting correctly.

Test ...
