this is a terrible idea. if even 10% of those fifty teachers bring handguns, and are not trained properly then they pose an even greater risk by bringing it with them. i can't remember exactly the details, but there was something along the lines where most crimes committed with guns were with stolen weapons. in the last two decades there has been a substantial decline in school related violence in america, but the news and media hype these things up to lead you to believe the contrary.
It doesn't sound like an awfully good idea to me.
I'd hate to be in a class with a burned-out teacher packing heat. That would not end well.
