A kid that age should know how to deal with his allergy. At least the school isn't acting like the ones here and making it a peanut-free zone. That's not fair to everyone else (especially to the picky kids who won't eat anything but peanut butter sandwiches).

As for lagging behind in his schooling, he must have a real dud for a teacher. 15 hours a week is more than enough time.
