Oh, it is, but we're devoted Anglophiles here in the Bay Area. we have a very large SCA/Renaissance Faire population, and a very large and popular Christmas Dickens Fair every December, and a lot of dance events in between all of those.
We do have one troupe, the White Rats, who have put a decidedly San Francisco spin on their routine: They often attach their bells and ribbons by inserting long needles through their upper arms and legs. Women are also allowed in that group.
