Amen!! I wonder if the name Katrina will mean anything to any of these stars a year from now.
Hee hee, yeah it kinda reminds of when the Bible says to give without letting anyone know that you did it. I feel like some of these people are thinking, cool! This will make me look SO GOOD!!
Of course, not that I'm gonna complain really... I mean, it's better than nothing. It's better than -- Kanye West.
The concert is on so many channels right now! I finally found a channel that was not showing it!
I think it is okay if giving makes you FEEL good. It is even okay if it makes you LOOK good...as long as that is a result of working to maximize your efforts.
I feel bad for these "famous" people who may never feel the real joy that comes from genuine, selfless giving.
I think it is fine for stars to publicize an important (non-political) cause with their fame and talents--I just don't think publicity is what is called for here. MONEY and EFFORT and some semblance of a normal existance are needed right now. We all know it SUCKS to be the victims right now...the question is what can we do to help them get back on their feet?
Even if the rock stars won't put displaced people up in their mansions, they could at least give some of these people new jobs!
