Gravatar I read here quite often, but I am usually on the same page as you, so I am not really good debate opponent material. I do think you can provide interesting insight into the life of the wife of a military officer. You may even be able to chip away at the notion that we all sit around sipping tea and getting manicures when we aren't parking in reserved spots at the commissary or cutting in front of people in line.

Gravatar I'd love to but I'm late for my manicure...about a year too late because that is the last time i had the time or spare cash to get one! HA!

Seriously, that is why I'm probably keeping http://mollypitcher.blogspot.com and ditching the political blog.

Politics are interesting--but I'm not sure what I have to add to the debate that is already out there.

Gravatar Hello. I am 18 years old and I came across your blog while looking for answers to a question. I dont seem to be getting anywhere. If its okay with you I would like to talk to you about getting married to a man in the Army. My boyfriend and I have talked about getting married before. I know that I want to marry him but I dont know if I can handle him being gone all the time. The past 6 months have been really hard for me. He is in the 82nd Airborne Division and currently deployed in Iraq. We plan on moving in together when he comes home. If we dont get married before we move in together do we have to live off base. I have been told the you have to be married to live on base together, is that true? If you could help me out alittle I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!!!!!! my email address is savinggrace16@yahoo.com

Gravatar Ashley--

You are correct that you cannot live in on post housing if you are not married to the servicemember. Also, depending on his rank, if he is single, he may not be eligible to live off post. He may have to live in the barracks.

I would love to chat a bit but I am going to be away from my computer for the next two or so weeks. In the meantime, I have a post about whether or not to marry a soldier linked on my sidebar AND SpouseBUZZ.com is a great place to meet and chat with some interesting MilSpouses.

Good luck to you and please come back and check out my site again in a few weeks!

I'll also e-mail you this.
