Gravatar I can't find the Chng Kee brand here in Halifax.. but I use Asian Gourmet Pre-packed mixes.. they are ok.. and 1 pack is not enough to make my curry.. i usually have to use 2 paks. But beggars can't be choosers.. so it will do for now...

Gravatar MrsTweety, I've tried Asian Gourmet curry mix before. You're right, 1 packet is too mild. If you've friends or family visiting from S'pore, maybe you could ask them to buy you more supplies of curry pre-mix?

Gravatar Hi Julia, thanks for this post. I'm a non-spicy eater and have always wondered how to make curry. Will look out for your recommended spice pack!

Gravatar Julia! First frozen chicken bits with seaweed, now pre-mixed curry paste?? You freely admit to those things that us cooks only do in embarrased secrecy. You're one liberated woman!

Gravatar Thanks Julia for your suggestion.. but i hate to bother anyone.. honestly...so i just have to make do or to perfect my curry chicken.. like you do.. by adding spices. Cheers..!!

Gravatar hey spots, happy experimenting with curry making!

carpal fish, yeah I guess I'm a candid, albeit lazy cook. stay tuned for more embarrassing secret shortcuts!

Gravatar hiya Julia
I miss the SEA-style curry chicken over here so much! I have tried to cook several times but they never turned out like the one my granny makes. Gonna give your recipe a shot when I find Chng Kee's curry paste. I remember seeing it somewhere....
