I like the pastries from Tai Chong Kok too (like their dou sha mooncakes too actually).
dou sha is my favored filling for these bing pastries... with both short or flakey crusts : )

I agree it's so nice to see the traditional bing gifts instead of the cream cakes etc.

Gravatar Reid, the next time you come to S'pore, why not bring a box of these pastries home? The confectionery is located in Chinatown, so you can drop by when you visit Chinatown.

hey Renee, it's great to know that I'm not the only fan of these traditional pastries. Luckily there's still Tai Chong Kok and a handful of traditional confectioneries still around. I really hope more S'poreans would buy Chinese pastries regularly instead of just during weddings or special festivals, otherwise this will become another dying trade in S'pore.
