Gravatar It's fun comparing this guy's look-down-the-nose theological outlook with his ethical philosophy:

"I will always have more friends than you just because I don't care about beating people and lying to get to the top."

"you will never move up the ladder because I am at the top and people like me hate people like you."

"By the end of the day if I wanted to, I could make a phone call and have your life absolutely ruined but there is no need because you are falling fast enough towards failure without me."

"In the end, all I can say is that people love me and people hate you. You should observe me and take a few notes on how to make real friends."

(What? By beating people up and lying to them--that's how you make friends? The Republican brain strikes again!!)

An example to us all, this guy. He signs off with the following:

"Once again from your intellectual, moral, social, and emotional superior"

Intellectual, moral, social and emotional superior? If I didn't know already that his letter was addressed to an actual person, I could have sworn he was serenading a bottom-feeding variety of slug.

Gravatar Don't you just love these kinds of fundies?

"What's written in the Bible is solid truth and no amount of evidence to the contrary will convince me otherwise. Now, let's have an honest open discussion on matters surrounding the intersection of faith and science..."

Gravatar Yes, open discussion and dissension is anathema to the fundie mindset; but since irony is also anathema to the fundie mindset, fundies are unable to see the contradiction.

Gravatar Popper "dissolved" the problem of induction. Sure, all theories are waiting to be falsified, hence Popperian knowledge claims are corrigable (so what?)

Corrigability being a sign of meekness incidentally. What did Jesus say about the meek?

Tripplehorn's induction fallacy rebutted, and by way of a non-theist answer more Christian than the theist one.

Too easy.

Gravatar Incidentally, Tripplehorn clearly doesn't understand the problem of induction; a solution has to work in all cases.

A man walks around the corner; he is white. Another man walks around the corner; he is white. What colour will the skin of the next man who comes around the corner be? Where in the bible does it talk about this corner (or other scenarios) where the problem of induction is valid?

I mention skin colour of course, because it's been used by inductivists who have simply ignored the problem of induction (or facetiously solved it), to make some pretty aweful (skin colour based) weakly inductive arguments.

Those employing a "God told me" answer to induction are really leading to an inevitable disaster...

How are you planning to spend the money?

Gravatar Considering that the judge has decided the conclusion before hearing the arguments, I think that the only one who has a chance of winning is the one who recants and converts...

"I was an atheist when starting to write this responce, hence I enter as an atheist... Now I'm a born again! Testify!"

Ka-ching...

Gravatar I'm sure the i53 Network is an eloborate hoax...an attempt to show the status of rationality or something! In their video "The Great Commission" the CNN news updates stream across the screen featuring some very strange items...they are easy to miss because of the attention being payed to the rivetting story of Tripplehorn's email. Also are you sure Kelly Tripplehorn is actually the very same Paul Kelly tripplehorn Jr of 2003. Will someone in USA look into this as I am in Australia.

Gravatar I live in Ft. Worth, Texas, where Tripplehorn's obnoxious family resides. The Kelly Tripplehorn of the accidentally hilarious Washington email is the same reborn Kelly Tripplehorn who's reincarnated recently as a fundie religionista. Even without a DNA match, you can recognize him by the same spectacular lack of logic and grammar.

Gravatar For a man who started out having a very bright future and then to fall from grace, this is about the most USELESS waste of time and talent I have EVER seen. An intelligent person would pull themselves up by their boot straps and move on with a productive life. Not this person, he chose to spend his days working on the biggest bunch of twaddle I've ever seen. I'm glad he was used as an example of what not to do on the computer because curosity caused me to find out what he's up to now and it's an excellent example of how one stupid move can ruin your life. This site shows just how badly he is wasting his life and talents. He thinks he's better than everyone else according to the infamous email - but I've seldom run across a bigger load of garbage in my life. To think what good someone with his supposed talent could have done in this world. How very sad. The irony of it is the woman he trashed probably has an incredible productive career now. Oh how we reap what we sow.
