Oh that *is* sad. She must have been pretty young.

This news made me quite sad, as well. Iris Young was one of my favourite feminist philosophers, and I've used her work in several papers. I particularly found her perspective on solidarity among disadvantaged groups very helpful. Her work is clear to understand, and she has a way of, I think, making you feel like it was your idea all along. Only the best philosophers can do that, in my book. She was a treasure.

She was 57. I was just purusing the APSA schedule and she's supposed to be on two panels. Very sad; hopefully they'll come up with a fitting tribute at the meeting.
