Uncle Ben said it;
Much as I would like to, I can't find fault with your assesment of the republican party. They are no better than the Godless, gunless, gutless democrats.
Regarding the recent school shooting, Where was the teacher? As a retired elementary teacher and former Marine, I felt that my duty to protect my students was paramount even if I must place myself in harms way.

I find it interesting that it's been mentioned more than just a few times by Republicans (regarding this Foley issue) that the problem isn't necessarily the pedophilia so much as the homosexuality, while at the same time drawing a direct line from homosexuality to pedophilia. This, while in the last week-week and a half, we've had two massive, national tragedies involving heterosexual male molestation/sexual assault (in the case of Lancaster, clearly planned molestation or worse) on female children. How, at this time, can they get up with a staright face and try to tell the public that the problem was that Foley is gay--that sexualt assaults on minors are primarily a gay "thing?" It's ridiculous and disgusting.

Even more ridiculous that the Republicans were afraid of being called homophobic and gay bashing!
Since when were they afraid of that? They have been running on it for 10 years at least.

I actually laughed out loud when I heard that, and thought the very same thing as you. Who buys that? Who are those people?

Behold, Uncle Ben agrees with me!
And let me note that Uncle Ben has indeed used the following formula to describe the Dems:
They are no better than the Godless, gunless, gutless democrats.
This is indeed a conscious rhetorical strategy of the Republican party and it only distorts and distracts from their own profound failures.

"Of course, this is the party of Jesus"
All mark Foley has to do to return to the Republican fold is miraculously see the profound error of his ways and become Born Again. Worked for Dubya.

It's the party of lovely theory and ugly practice. "Come look at our abstractions!" is what the "values" slogan says.

Thank you. I was going to comment on it earlier, but I wouldn't have been nearly as nice as you are.

It is important to note that many conservatives, including myself, are disgusted with this entire situation. To lump all of us into some sort of giant defense force for Foley is insulting and completely false and unfair. Republicans and conservatives are outraged by this and it will resonate in the upcoming election. Furthermore, Aspazia, your rhetorically charged post does absolutely nothing to contribute to a constructive political debate. Spewing vitriolic buzzwords and catchphrases makes you as guilty of gumming up any hope of progress in this country as the Republicans you so revile. Be aware that those who you mention in your post do not represent the majority of Republicans and conservatives, and more importantly, that holding the sanctity of life and liberty in high regard, and supporting the military and promotiong the safety of this nation is far from laughable. Your unmitigated disdain for anyone that does not agree with you and your ultra leftist viewpoints, however, is. It's easy to sit on your high horse in the ivory tower and spew partisan crap. In the long run, it doesn't get us anywhere.

Speaking of buzzwords....or are those just overused cliches? What's the difference?

There is a big difference between a dissenting opinion and a nasty ad hominem. A dissenting opinion need not resort to reckless and unnecessary slander of your opponent.

To the writer of:"The Republican Article"
The sad thing is, no one cares to listen to your article of complaints and feministic views, because you are biased and cannot write a sentance without a dash of sarcasm. Please get your point across with fact and try not get your emotions involved with your writing.
