I'm so bummed I'm going to miss it, although my waist is probably thankful. I loved your pie-ku.

Do you do anything with gooseberries? for the past couple of years I've bought some from the Wasem table and then wondered what to do with them... Plus I found a bush in my backyard that is bearing gooseberries now, so I have a double reason to figure it out!

Hi Jen - I'd say I would save some pie for you, but last year there wasn't a single piece left!
Tricia - Gooseberry pie was (still is) my grandfather's favorite pie, though he doesn't get it very often now in Arizona. I made him one last summer.

Kim, when you make gooseberry pie, do you just treat 'em like any other berry? I suppose I can go search the web for recipes...

Okay, so I found a recipe for sour cream gooseberry pie that I plan to try. Now do you have any suggestions for black currants?? :^)

I should stop using this comment form as my personal goseberry reporting system, but: I made the sour cream gooseberry pie - delish! Too bad I couldn't share with your grandpa.

Hi Tricia
I like that - your personal gooseberry reporting system. That's hilarious. I don't mind and I think I should get that sour cream gooseberry recipe from you!
However, I know nothing about black currants except that they should be made into tea. My friend Alex made a wonderful red currant tart at the Lady Food Bloggers picnic....

Gooseberry reporting system checking in - defrosted frozen gooseberries make a good pie as well!
