whenever I hear "misinterpretation of (X religion) is causing Z problems" I just know I'm going to have trouble forcing myself to watch the rest. Can anyone here honestly recall an instance that they could point to and say 'yes, this is a MIS-interpretation of this particular religion that is causing these problems'? No you can't, because practically all religions RELY on wacky interpretations ALREADY. How the fuck do you MIS-interpret something that's completely batshit nonsensical to begin with? If anything, these so-called MIS-interpreters of their respective religions are actually following the repugnant dictates in their magic books MORE literally and closely than their moderate counterparts.

I completely agree with you Blake. There is no such a thing as moderate or extremist Muslims, only practicing and non-practicing believers.

We had a problem with gang violence in the early 1990s here in town and all of the gangsters got into that Nation of Islam stuff and the local jail wouldn't even provide an alternative to pork. This was a drag for Islamist gansters since most days lunch consisted of a hot-dog wrapped in a piece of bread. At first the authorities were all for it because it seemed to reduce the recitivism rate with young African-American Males from the lower-income social areas but found the prisoners were demanding far to many special privleges.

I couldn't find myself to watch that thing all the way through. Annoying storytelling to say the least. Felt like an episode of the terrible series 24.

As in: get to the fucking point instead of showing praying muslims with arabic music whaling in the background.
To much play on fear of the unknown.

I think there was one good thing I saw here, was a Muslim cleric trying to "civilize" the new jihadists. That's Islam taking responsibility for its own problems, and it's good to see.
