How am I not one bit surprised... These countries have some of the worst human rights I've ever heard (they make China's poor human rights record look like a golden dream, especially if your a women). These people's mentally is really stuck in the 10-11th centry, and it shows what the dangers of religion, especially in its extreme form, can be...

The women did NOTHING wrong, she was the victim. But she's treated like the criminal and killed for being a victim while I am sure the rapest goes unpunished. These extremist Islam/Shira Law countries are just sickening...

Gravatar Fucking barbarians.

Gravatar Please keep in mind, other versions of this story report the woman actually requested that she be tried according to Sharia law -- see this article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/afric...ica/ 7694397.stm. If that was indeed the case, I can imagine just a little bit (having never been raped myself, mind) that she might have preferred death to the life she'd have branded as a soiled woman in her community.

Gravatar I think Jenny makes a good point.

If she really believes in god, why should she not request for sharia-law to be applied?

Gravatar "Religion of Peace" my a**!

I'm as much a pacifist as the next guy, but these "people" really strain my anti-violent tendencies.

Gravatar A decent society would counsel that woman so that she would not be so self destructive, there is no mitigating circumstance, this is evil to the core and no-one can say that this was not a result of religion!

Gravatar One shred of hope in this, the killers needed armed men to prevent the victim's family from rescuing her and fired on the locals who surged forward.

Gravatar That is sick.
When are theygonna changr
I
Ii do do
H

Gravatar Don -- can you supply a source for that statement? The sources I've read haven't provided much info at all in the way of protests. Thx.

Gravatar Never mind, Don -- I found this: http://www.bosnewslife.com/afric...militants- stone

Apparently, the girl was 13, not 23 as the original story claimed.

Gravatar Sorry, another source, this time a secular one: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/.../somalia- gender

Gravatar I really cant find a prober words to condemn this berberic action, im somali and i feel very sad to hear this, belive me one day we will eliminate thoose terrorist elemints from out society

Gravatar Pacifism will never work. No amount reasoning can convince fanatics to give up their religious beliefs. Down with all religions.

Gravatar That picture is from a movie, by the way.

Gravatar I hope (for her souls sake) these men that decided her fate, raped her,and everyone involved in murdering her has thier testicles shrivel up and rot off!May thier sons have only daughters may ALLA forget they live!May the sun never smile upon thier retched faces again! If I were able to do so I'd throw my shoes at them!ALLA will never forgive any of them!!EVER!!!

Gravatar It looks as if the story of requesting punishment in the face of attempts to persuade Aisha to change her statement is an unconvincing story made up by Islamists responsible after the event so I do not agree that Oli makes a good point, but even if true, counselling would be indicated as a contributor said. Most accounts say that Aisha was struggling, trying to escape and begging,"Don't kill me."

Gravatar when will these fucking sand niggers quit killing people for no good reason. in fact just to be an ass how about i go over there and just start shooting members of government because shit like this pisses me off. hey they do the same to thier people maybe if something happens to them they might learn. im not going to do this but its somthing to think about.
