But how could McCain be pro-life if he supports a senseless war, where thousands of people are being killed.

The church should support neither candidate since really neither candidate supports all of its beliefs.

Jethro -- the only life the self-professed pro-lifers are concerned with are the unborn ones. Indeed, as soon as you're born, you're screwed.

I've recently read George Lakoff's Don't Think of an Elephant.
what he says there, in a nutshell, is that pro-life is not "save the children" but actually "punish the women".

the shortened long version: from a pro-life point of view, women who seek abortion are women not adhearing to a 'strict father family model', which is a model where a woman doesn't have a right to her own body and is controlled by her father, until he transfers ownership (marry) to another man who will control her.

I watched the video I linked to several months before reading that book and thought those people must be complete idiots, afterwards they make much more sense: they can't explain it to themselves after buying into the propaganda but they actually think that NOT having an abortion IS the punishment.
they strut abortion as the crime, when in actuality it's the woman's nerve to take ownership of her own life and body.
