You should be ashamed of the disgusting things that have been done in the name of your country and you should also be proud of the good things. It's not complicated :-S
And not once does he mention here how the US constitution does not favour Christianity in writing.
These guys are trying to destroy their own country!

Pat Robertson is getting so old he can barely speak. Michael Medved is one of the biggest liars in America, so has no business whatsoever talking about truth.
As for that "Fourth Awakening" he's talking about: Yeah, it's the awakening of all reasonable people to Fundie Hunting Season for the next few generations or so.

"when you look at europe that ist just wallowing in an economic malaise"
I just discovered the the sign of the brodcaster and it looked to me like an onion and I thought, oh, ah, ok its all just a bad joke. but then I realised its not. its no joke. its dammn real stupid shit. I can't believe how can stand this all the time.
greetings from germany, europe

Cheers, sapere!
I'm in Germany, too. I can't see any economic malaise...at least not before the USA housing bust threw us into a recession. Still, it's really no worse than the US situation.
Why should the US try to be more like Europe? Hmm, I really can't think of any reasons, except maybe for universal health care, lower homicide rates, less guns, less religious nutjobs, less bigotry in general...
The sign does kind of look like an onion at first glance, it's too bad this isn't a joke.

It's fascinating to read the geniuses that have written in that can only name call yet not offer one shred of credible evidence to refute anything Medved says. Your collective intellect is stunning, i must say. OH, by the way... is your little BFF in the Senate, Robert C. Byrd, among those forgiven for his being a prominent member of the KKK? You represent yourselves well, I must say. McCain may have lost the election but you that voted for Obama clearly show the kind of brain power it takes to have made the lovely, non-substantive choice you all made.
So, come on... let's have it. Let's hear the grand refutations that will validate the stupidity of your name-calling and summary judgements. This ought to be good. Don't forget to include your sources, darlings.

Princetrumpet -- It's fascinating to read how you fall back to a position of requiring "credible evidence" when such evidence does not exist and cannot exist since it is impossible to reason with religion. Indeed, your like cannot even be relied upon to stick to the original argument. Instead, you have to try to distract everyone by bringing up politics and slinging epithets at those who didn't vote for your precious candidate (who btw is about as nutty as Medved himself in his rapidly advancing age -- sometimes I got him confused with the waspish stylings of Ross Perot).
And besides, it is not to us that you should be looking for that "credible evidence" of what Medved says. Any reasonable person knows the burden of proof is on Medved himself. Because he believes in charbroiled fairies and the blood-red ponies of the Apocalypse, you won't be seeing that evidence anytime soon.
So, princetrumpet, go blow yourself and trouble us no more.

Socialism is bad but america has become more socialist than any european country with their interventions in every sector of the economy so i don't understand how these idiots can claim they stand for capitalism...

nina- but this wishful thinking and grand ideas don't answer the question "where is the money going to come from?" because things like free healthcare doesn't appear out of think air- it might tho for all the obama voters out there who believe anything they hear...

instead of celebrating thanksgiving this thursday.... [they will have] " a national day of mourning"
since when do native Americans celebrate that holiday anyway?
I want to read this book and then compare it to Howard Zinn's peoples history of America. We are forgetting our history.
Once and for all....were the founding fathers actually religious or where they more liberal. I know the pilgrims life Brittan to get away from religious persecution.
this seems like a big gray matter!!!!

It's astonishing to read your "intellectual" comments. Mainly just namecalling and silly slapstick- language.
I come from Europe, and I've lived the socialist paradise, that is actually more like a straight jacket.
You think Europe is tolerant? It's far more intolerant that America. At least there, as it seems to be in here too, it is the left that advocates speech codes, hate- speech laws and "fairness" doctrines. Europe isn't free.
You think "free" health care is free? Try 22% sales tax (when I left Finland 10 years ago), up to 70% personal income tax, $7- 10/gal gas etc etc. You don't get free refills in European restaurant; it can't afford such luxury when it supports those who wish not to work.
Ever been to DMV? Government health care is more like that. It's not a Michael Moore documentary.
US is not a Christian nation? Then why are the official documents, federal buildings and speeches, especially those who were given by the founders, littered with Christian ideas and Bible codes? I've lived in a country with government church and it's not good, but not to acknowledge that that this nation's values were, and are Judeo- Christian is just wishful thinking by those who want it to be so.
This is just one ex- European's view and probably doesn't make any difference to you. It just scares me to see America going to the direction of the place I AND MILLIONS OTHERS WANT TO ESCAPE FROM. If America is so bad and failed, why do so many want to come here? I find the level of your discourse very shallow indeed. You pride yourselves being open minded, but your comments prove quite something else. If you like Europe and loath America, move there; let the rest of us stay. We are extremely happy and thankful to be here. This is the best country on Earth.
You Americans are so spoiled. You don't realize how good you have it.
