if i could save a million lives by slowly hurting some guy i think i would. i know this only happens in movies but it could happen today. I agree with torture only on extremely unique circumstances.

Everybody who champions torture should question if it will ever make it to American shores. Because we're not wearing any uniform. Government has shown a great propensity to abuse power.

Agree with WTF. Look what America did to it's own Japanese CITIZENS during WW2. Now ask yourself if torture should be allowed in legislation.
I suppose the "ticking bomb" argument is a poor one, considering the immense suffering that has been caused and given that this event has never happened to our knowledge.
Suppose a ticking bomb WHERE to occur, it isn't likely, in my opinion, that anyone conducting such torture illegally, would be punished, if for example, the code to disarm a nuclear bomb could be determined by this method. Not that nuclear briefcases ever work like this outside Hollywood's fetid imagination anyway.
