I am definitely going to send a few bucks to my local PBS station. I for one can't wait to see it. I looked for an email address for the AFA to tell them how I felt about it but couldn't find one. Anybody got one? Or or they afraid of being bombed(email wise not the literal kind)

I think that this program is not necessarily depicting the bible as being false, but rather giving insight information on new discoveries that can explain details that scientists and scholars have been looking for but would not find them in the bible.

I think it's time we quit pretending that the bible floated down a cloud from heaven. If people want to have faith they at least understand what is true and untrue-what is real or not- dependable information or fabracted

The thing a lot of people don't get is that all of this has been know for years.
There are quite a few books out there on the subject that are meant for both a popular audience and a more scholarly readership. The problem is not that the information is not available, but that pulling shark teeth from an awake shark is easier than getting most people to listen to it or read it.
Of course, the fine folks who belong to the American Family Association would rather feed themselves to the shark than actually consider that Nova, and all those intellectuals are right.

Is there any evidence in support of the Exodus? Did it really happen? Ph.D. scientist Gerald E. Aardsma has studied and written on the Exodus for many years. He has some compelling evidence which shows that the Exodus did indeed happen! If you are looking for factual, scientific data, Dr. Aardsma has a book regarding the Exodus that you can order by going to this link: http://

It was a great middle of the road documentary which presented the objective facts concerning the Old Testament. It gave solid evidence for all the kings of Israel from King David and onward. But it also indicated that the early stories of the patriarchs and Moses may have been grounded in much older stories which archaeology has not shed any light on. It pretty well surmised that the Exodus, with Moses and 600,000 Hebrews is likely an exaggerated account of a pattern of much smaller migrations of Canaanite slaves, (Apiru?) who were likely incorporated into early Israel in the 13th century BC. It was a good production, with cool 3-D render of the City of David as it may have looked based in current archaeological estimates.

Ph.D. scientist Gerald E. Aardsma does not know what he is talking about. His ignorance is manifest is you read his treatise. NOVA did a nice conservative job of showing present scholarly evidence on the origins of the old testament. It is a gentle presentation to appeal to believers and non believers alike. The conclusion is that Judaism as we know it is only 500 years older than Christianity. Perhaps there is an evolution from polytheism to monotheism. And again maybe an evolution from monothesism to atheism.

I am wondering what God would say on the subject Himself? The Bible is a mystery to dicypher in time, which is why many people have trouble relating to it. We would rather take matter into our own hand, than to submit to a higher authority. I am doing so much
in relations to many ideological views. I have a few questions regarding the Bible starting with slavery to end time events in this macrocosm. Who am I? what I am doing here? Where am I going after this life?
