Re the link regarding Germany, it seems that the German people, to judge by today's censorship policies and their history over the past century, have a mindset that compels them to seek totalitarian leadership.
Unfortunately, what with the collectively surrendered national sovereignties represented by the EU and the "say" Germany shares with other member states, this sort of suppression of free speech could well spread like a cancer throughout Europe.
We, as Americans, need to do whatever we can to prevent our government from continuing its present slide into the same socialist political armpit Europe has become.

Let's plan on this. Anyone with input. I am not so sure if the focus of the March should be on anti Islam because we'll get a kneejerk reflex of "racist", "bigot" label from the media...
But if we include it in our grievances (a major one) that would work. Plus I'm a little averse to koran burnings, etc... Let's focus on maintaining our Constitutional rights and light a fire under Congress' asses!
I agree that a Million Man March on the issue of Islam is a good thing, and a long time coming.
However, for such a gigantic event, you simply have to have the patience of long planning in order to get all the ducks in a row. Better to spend a lot of time preparing, than to get impatient and end up with a pathetic turnout of a few thousand, who have little coordination and don't know how to talk to reporters, etc.
In light of the above, I think your suggestion of aiming for September of 08 is way too early. September of 09 would be, realistically, the soonest to plan for.
Secondly, I have strong feelings about what the overall theme should be, and what should be allowed for sub-categories. This March should not be too complex or over-burdened with a myriad issues. I would say keep it as simple as possible: make it mostly about the Problem of Islam. Adding on a "list of grievances" which would include immigration would muddy the waters. You want to have a simple clear impact, not a ragged laundry list that will blur the main issue, Islam.
So, in light of the above, I think part of the long planning period would be getting committees together to come to a consensus on the content & message of the March itself. It is likely that many people would come on board and not care about the fine points of the agenda -- which is great. But there will also be many, like me, who do care.
Again, I strongly recommend the March be mainly (or only) about one thing: the Problem of Islam. That Problem can then be broken down into Terrorism, Sharia, the History of Jihad, Politically Correct Whitewashes of Islam, etc.

You're right. We must take back our country. You're also right about all this hate crime bs. If a bible had been thrown in the toilet, who would have noticed? It's infuriating! Besides which, you can't flush a book down the toilet. It just won't work. So it was simply a sign of utter revulsion towards the Koran, and as I am someone who is also repulsed by Islam, I think the toilet is a pretty good place for it.

Well that's why we need to march on DC. CAIR is really working hard to make Islam an exception to all the rules when it comes to our Constitution (Or worse, if you read Ahmad's quote on my sidebar) and we have to tell our government that we will NOT accept it.
We have to nip this in the bud because we are headed in the same path as Europe. NO WAY!!!

Maybe SEVERAL million Americans and their families could plan to take vacation and camp out there until American policies are restored from the hands of those calling themselves Americans, but who are anti-American in everything they speak and everything they support.
It is time for action to be taken even by those who normally do not act. Life will not continue going on as usual.
We are oppressed by alien ideologies (Marxist and Islamic) within our own borders and those are assisted and empowered by our own politicians.
