Reverend George Bush lived from 1796 - 1859, so your date of 1830 for Life of Mohammed seems correct.
However, this means your math is a little off. A "George Bush" didn't write a book about Islam 80 years before 9/11. He wrote a book about the Christian struggle against Islam 180 years before September 11 2001.

I'm referring to the book "The Blight of Asia", not Rev. Bush's book on the Life of Mohammed. Please read my sentence again:
"But it did give me pause to think that this name would be associated with Islam in a book written over 80 years ago concerning an event which occurred on September 11."

"That journalist must have worked for the New York Times." LOL!!!!
Or CNN (re Iraq, pre-war).
Great post, Atheling2, and chilling. The quotes you supplied have a graphic quality one doesn't find much of in today's books and articles, while bringing home the reality of Islam and what it should mean to Christians and other "infidels" everywhere.
It is a centuries old, implacable force of purest evil, and anyone interested in things satanic need look no further.

I have a feeling that the book is no longer published here for very good reasons. If you go to Wikipedia you will find some criticisms levelled at the good consul made by a ... *clears throat* POLITICIAN. I've also found Turkish websties (misspelling intended) attempting to discredit Mr. Horton's account, claiming that the massacre never happened!

Atheling2,
Fascinating and well-researched article, and even a bit literary, with enough coincidences to make us think. Of course I raced off and found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sep...ki/
September_11
..wherein all sorts of interesting things happened on 9-11, and I suppose further tales intertwining history (the Coptic year starts 9-11)
religion, births, deaths, etc. could be conjured. I've always considered the Turks as mysterious, and the question comes to mind...if the Armenian genocide was religious, why would the Turks hate their fellow-Muslim Kurds? This is difficult to make sense of in light of most historians agreeing that the Kurds were actively involved on the side of the 'Young Turks' during the genocide. Thanks for the history of a rather understudied time and place
(at least among us non-historians).
Sheesh, will have to spend the rest of the day pondering the ramifications of whether we are descended liquistically and racially
from the 'pre-Aryans' who swept out of Armenia/Kurdistan back in the dawn of history....

"Ataturk explicitly stated that there should be no official investigation" and he was conspicuously absent during the event (plausible deniability?)...
This in itself would be more than enough to make even the most obtuse among us say, "Hmmmmmmmm".
That's about right when it comes to the very Muslim "ignore the facts and believe what we tell you".
The preponderance of evidence re witnesses, IMO, cancels out any denial of the event the Turks could register.
I can see what you mean, Atheling2, about why the book is no longer available in the U.S. It seems the PC revisionists manage to get into every nook and cranny.

Well this is just fascinating. Thank you Atheling. George Bush, eh? Very interesting.
I've come to the conclusion that they're all just crazy on that continent. Crazy. Lying. Bloodthirsty. Oh okay - not ALL of them, but probably a couple of billion of them.
Although I am greatly concerned about our little mohammedism problem (as I like to call it), I don't believe for one minute that they are strong enough to wipe Christianity out. For one - islamic nations are unbelievably unsuccessful. For two - the Brits and the Americans, at least, will fight to the last man when push comes to shove.

Monica:
The problem with Islam is that they are coming in through the back door. They won't "fight" to the man like a real fight; they know they can't win against us there, but they will outbreed us. That's what's happening in Europe.
Read Mark Steyn's new book "America Alone" and you'll find grim statistics regarding the death of Europe and what the world will look like with America as the last western power facing an Islamic Europe. It's frightening.

As you said some things never changed. Chilling and distrubing.
Unlike Bush I can think of other "powers" besides the divine lord that would push Islam to such preeminence.

Agreed. Islam is motivated by dark forces, however I wonder if Rev. Bush is right that God is permitting it in order to wake us up and turn back to Him.
There is historical precedence... look at Israel in the Old Testament. Whenever they turned away from Yahweh, He allowed their enemies to conquer them until they repented and turned back to Him. Why should we be spared?
