Gravatar What I find interesting is that so many of these anti-nuclear lists of talking points sound like they were written by a sophomore high-school student who is failing basic English composition.

Can't these groups at least find someone who can write better than that?

Then again, the naivete exhibited in their list of "solutions" (pro-solar stickers?! please) indicates that critical thinking skills are not some of their strongest points. I've noticed that critical thinking skills and good writing skills often go hand in hand.

I hope I can take that last sentence as a comment on both my critical thinking and writing skills. Heck, I will, even if you were not directing it my way.

Gravatar Thanks for the What is Nuclear site. It contains excellent information. The sort of facts that I like to have at hand when I make presentations on nuclear energy.

Gravatar Well, Rod, let me just say that it is apparent from your writing here that you have benefited from a good Liberal Arts education.

As I used to try to emphasize to my students -- good writing is thinking. The main difference between the two is that writing leaves something on the page for other people's benefit.

Gravatar I noticed that they basically fell back on the old argument "if it can't solve the problem completely, then it can't contribute to the solution." My retort is, what can solve the problem completely? Answer: nothing.
