Interesting article. As someone looking at going to college to get a nuclear engineering degree, what advice would you give me?

What I will do is open this question up for the rest of the readers before I chime in. Folks - what do you think? Can you give Kit any advice?

Gravatar University of Tennessee-Knoxville, perhaps?

A lot depends on your specific needs and desires. Do you want a 'brick and mortar' experience at a major university? If so, where?

Would you be open to an online degree? I represent the nuclear industry on the Governance Committee for EPCE, a collaboration of energy providers that has worked with Bismarck State College and Clemson University to provide accredited Associate and Bachelor degrees - all online. www.epceonline.org

Gravatar Barry,

Well, to be honest, I'm not really sure what my needs or desires are. I've always wanted to be an engineer, and nuclear energy has really peaked my interest-especially with the possibility of its resurgence. That being said, I'm not really sure what type of education I want or need. Until now, the University of New Mexico is the only school I've strongly considered, mainly because of in-state tuition

Gravatar Rod, you have any advice?

Running off to work now. I apologize for not getting back to you, but I will this weekend. There are some great opportunities out there for people interested in the field.
