Thanks for the pointer, Rod.
Have fun at the ANS winter meeting! It's an exciting time to be going to events such as these. I hope that you are able to catch up with a couple of your regular readers there.

This is awesome news! By the way, Ms. Cravens will have a book signing near or at the ANS meeting.
Way to go!

Thanks for the heads up. It is so heartening to see a pro-nuclear power article on a site that is somewhat main-stream media. After years of suffering the slings and arrows of the anti-crowd, this feels good.
Now if only I can get Americans to buy into my other passion - soccer! I've suffered the same sort of abuse for playing "that commie sport" as I was told on more than one occasion. Ignorance is not just limited to nuclear issues.
On the other hand, it could be I'm just a sucker for lost causes!

Larry:
I understand your passion for the underdog. I think that there are plenty of Americans who share your love of soccer (football or futbol for some of our international readers). I see the sport played in many different venues including lunch time in Arlington and on a large field at a middle school on the way home.
The only real problem that the sport has here is that it is not as media or fan friendly as American football for one simple reason - it moves too continuously. There is no time for commercials or visits to the snack bar! The media just does not like sports where they have difficulty earning money by showing ads for beer, cars, and ED products.
It is my contention that lack of commercials are a main reason for the media dislike of nuclear power - though you occasionally see or hear something now, compare the number of ads by nuclear organizations to the number of ads by oil and gas companies and you will understand who butters the bread for major media outlets.
Fossil fuel companies have been heavy advertisers for many decades.
