There's a major book, nay, a raft of books, on how Rumsfeld's Office of Special Plans altered, ignored and manufactured intelligence to make the Cabal's case for the invasion of Iraq.

An administration that would slime a triple amputee is capable of just about anything. Lying and disinformation are the least of their unimaginable outrages.

I'm confused here. What was in the original report by UPI that is later deleted?
Is it just the headline?
Are they just downplaying the "no link between Sadam and al-Qaida?" Another news media outlet fearful of exposing yet another Bush lie?

Anyone alive that doesn't believe aWol
started this "war" to get elected is
up to their ass in an Egyptian river..
.karl has nothing new and the troops
won't vote for the dummy appointee that cooked their asses in the desert
while cutting benefits for their kids
and veterans. I like Gen.W. Clark.
Let's see karl try to smear a real man
with four Purple Hearts and a Brain for getting things done properly.
The General as President will correct
the damage done by the herd of asses
to our Beloved Country. Bush must pay
for the dishonorable lies and his use
of the LIVES OF INNOCENT PEOPLE, soldiers and civilians, to hoodwink the Citizens. Register and VOTE.
karl fears the informed Voter.
Make him shake.....

There's a 20+ page section devoted to support of AQ by foreign countries. It seems inconceiveable that Iraq wasn't one of the countries considered. If there's no mention of Iraq in the report, it could only be because no one could find evidence of a connection. As Rummy might say, "evidence of absense means absence of evidence."

A triple amputee war hero that lost his limbs in the service of his country while aWol and the PNAC chickenhawks live out their world domination fantasies with other people's lives.
Other examples of their lack of decency: starting a war while cutting VA benefits, dancing on the graves of the WTC victims in NYC next fall, and one of aWol's pictures from the USS Abraham Lincoln was released yesterday in a fundraising letter.
Sorry, meant to remove the Heywood Jablome moniker from The Daily Show. But it was a pretty funny reference to the CA recall campaign.

Joseph,
The original story is now gone; however you can get some idea of what it said by clicking on the link to my previous post.
Beth, terrific point. I think the same is true of Clinton's culpability. They criticize his administration for not bringint to the public's attention the degree of concern and the attentiont they were paying to the issue within the administration, but the absence of any mention, for instance, of the so-called offer of Sudan to turn over bin Ladin, probably means it never happened.

Speaking of slow-walking, does anybody care that the Administration knew about the seriousness of the Korea problem, but didn't reveal it until after the vote on Iraq? I haven't read any recent mention of that at all.

Wolfowitz had a very hard time on Russert this morning. He is down to asserting that what is playing out in Iraq today is the main event in the war on terror, but given the recent disclosure that there was no credible connection of Iraq and Al Qaeda, I don't see how this is defensible. One more instance of using 9/11 to justify things that are not related.
