I'MMA LET YOU FINISH

GravatarYABL, YABL. Is there anything this administration does NOT lie about? Though I take that back, the intent to rule the world has been made pretty clear, and that is one that I believe.

GravatarHow many lies will J.Q.Public swallow?
"Of course we don't want to alarm anyone...that is until it suits of purpose"- Bushco.

GravatarHow many lies will J.Q.Public swallow?

I don't know. Ask that little anonymous troll that's been hanging around. He seems to believe everything dear leader's propaganda machine tells him.

GravatarJohn Q. Public already swallowed the lies, washed down with a big gulp of Rotgut Journalism.

The question now is how badly Mr. Public has been poisoned.

GravatarPeople tend to get very angry when they realize they've been betrayed. IQ doesn't seem to be a factor.

GravatarWonder why Whitman went away...

GravatarDid anyone hear about this study that has concluded that babies born in a geographic line in the direction of the debris plume aloft from WTC are of lower than average birth-weight, I believe they were also talking about that on NPR yesterday.

And, I don't feel reassured, as a member of the public, that I will be misled in times of crisis -- for the sake of (insert diety here), please, if the feds don't know the truth, just tell us you don't know... At least, that way, we can still trust you.

GravatarWasn't this pretty much Gore's point the other day?

Gravatarhere is a question
Since many journalists stayed in NY during this time, and their children went to school, will this threat to their health and families health finally piss them off?
So far, none of the lies have been personal to them. This seems to strike home.

GravatarIssue another pass... if one theorem has been proved over and over the last two years, the public is willing to excuse any lie that can be suggested was made to ease public fear or protect them from danger...

Nay... they will applaud such a lie.

It is part of what we helpless little serfs have come to depend on from Great White Father who Protects Us. Altho we can't expect him to fight for us, we can expect him to don a flight suit, send our sons and daughers, and tell us anything that makes us feel better. Amen

(Besides, the Sunday morning Talking Heads will make sure we know this is the EPA after all... whatever happed is there fault)

Gravatar"...and the desire to reopen Wall Street, also played a role in E.P.A.'s air quality statements,"

So, BushCo decides: 'get the slugs back into a hazardous work site so they get the capitalist engine started'. Wonder if this won't get the WSJ BushCo faithful a little piqued - sacrificial lambs?

"What we wanted to do was be reassuring to the public at that time," Ms. Horinko said.

How is lying reassuring?

GravatarAs I said many times before when the shit starts coming up in John Q's backyard then his inteligence quota
goes up exponentally, but not until then. Regards

GravatarBesides, the Sunday morning Talking Heads will make sure we know this is the EPA after all... whatever happed is there fault)

(their)

Who watches the Talking Heads?

Just curious.

GravatarWho watches the Talking Heads?

To quote the T Heads:

These slippery people
help us understand

GravatarHelp us understand all the lying?

Well, they might be getting better at that...

I'm reserving judgment.

Gravatarpie - I'm reserving judgement as well. It was just all the references to Talking Heads made me think of the band. I knew I had to quote either "Slippery People" or "Life During Wartime", and the former just, uh, made more sense...

GravatarNTodd, maybe the "Talking Heads" should be hosting Sunday morning news shows.

They'd do a better job, I'm sure.

GravatarI feel like we're all on a road to nowhere, so that may be appropriate...

GravatarIt was for the greater good. Move along, nothing to see here.

I remember this. Two MASSIVE 1970s era asbestos laden buildings disintegrate into huge clouds of dust and burn for months, and the air nearby is deemed "fine" by the EPA, like a week after their original, accurate report about toxicity.

Who are you going to believe? The first report, or the second one. I totally remember this happening.

I knew that air was dirty. Fuck, you could see it wasn't good to breathe.

Gravatarhmmm. could it be? has the SCLM decided to nail Bush on another incident of truth-molestation??? anyone know where this change of heart is coming from? (WTC asbestos is probably not the root cause of the discontent). Several years of Bush not schmoozing the press since his campaign . . . did they finally realize he's not their pal after all?

GravatarIf the SCLM turns on BushCo, and I've seen no evidence that they have, it'll be because Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz/Rice did something to piss off their masters (probably just too many F***kups or else they've served their useful purpose).

GravatarToxic waste? Asbestos? Air pollution? NO SUCH THING! JUNK SCIENCE! Libburul Propuganduh!

GravatarI'm surprised no one has quoted The 25th Hour yet.

"The Times says the air's not safe to breathe down there."
"Fuck the Times. I read the Post."

(It's an absolutely excellent movie and you should all rent it.)

Gravatar> YABL, YABL. Is there anything this administration does NOT lie about?

I believe that the propoganda machine
in America is a tool used just as
violence is used by oppressive governments.

To control the population who don't matter.

Gravatar> I'm surprised no one has quoted The > 25th Hour yet.
> "The Times says the air's not safe > to breathe down there."
> "Fuck the Times. I read the Post."
> (It's an absolutely excellent movie > and you should all rent it.)

spike! it does kick ass

And 25th says "Fuck" to a couple
more things that perhaps needed it...

GravatarIf you want to bury a story, you publish it on Friday or Saturday. Why wasn't this front page on the Sunday paper?

GravatarBush is obviously a Talking Heads fan. The administraton's theme song is of course, Burning Down the House.

GravatarAppointments that have to be apporved by the Senate should have a term that corresponds to the president that appointed them, and if the president wants to fire them, the Senate should have to approve his dismissal. That way we can get some political appointees that can verbally disagree with the president and not worry so much about being forced out.

GravatarAnyone in that area knew the air wasn't safe. You could smell it. Even in late october spending any time in the area around the WTC would leave you with an irritated throat and cough that would last several days. This just fits right in with the Waxman report which says Bushco manipulates science(like everything else) for their own purposes. And yes, it is true that pregnant women in the vicinity of the WTC attack have given birth to smaller than normal infants, most probaly due to mercury.(NYT for most of this info, my personal experience for the rest).
