I don't know enough of the details to know whether this man has a history of similar sounding behavior and/or thinking towards people who oppose the CCCP agenda, but if the attitude is indeed common for these two then anything less than their resignation, followed by these guys being tracked to a bar somewhere and having the shit beaten out of them would be like a gang rape of liberals, right Grover?

Their "ideas" won't stand up to scrutiny, so childish tantrums are their only recouse.
Hey, like the GOP says, it's all about character....and the characters on their side like rush, savage, nosetwist and coulter et.all have been setting the tone. So don't expect any outrage among conservatives- this is right in line with their conditioning. Mix in fervent religious intolerance, and anyone who expects rational discussion of issues on their merits simply doesn't understand just who it is sitting across the table.
Expecting play fair from the conservative machine is basically asking for an asskicking. Thus Dean's traction. Let's hope more Dems wise up and fight back with vigor.

Why is anyone surprised? What was once right-wing fringe is now normal. What was once civil society is now a culture war. This is the way the extreme right wants it, and they've got the financial backing to make it happen. And if you read enough of their crap, I know that's hard to stomach, you'll find that they think THEY'RE under attack and are losing.

Remember that dumb kid who was taken off a plane when his family was going on vacation from Boston to Hawaii? He had put a note inside his checked-in luggage and all he alluded to was "did you #@*x##'s find the Bomb yet? No? I didn't think so. So close my bag and leave my #2$*& belongings alone" Typical teenage wise-ass defiance. He is (last I heard) being prosecuted under the anti-terrorism acts and his family missed their trip to Hawaii. How does this compare to a direct threat of violence in this case (made privately, or not)?

Central California is home to a number of RW terrorists.
They developed their character beating up farm workers, I guess.
There are certain cities in California that really suck. Fresno is one of them.
A joke my daddy told me when I was a kid:
Q. What's flat and hot and just lies there?
A. Fresno.
Actually the entire Central Valley has to one of the most gosh dern ugliest places in the world. So flat you can see every pile of junk for miles around.
And being mostly conservative there they don't care much for taking care of their environment. The most pathetic site I know of in the state has to be the horrible and cramped conditions near Coalinga (hwy 5) of thousands of cattle broiling in the heat of the day with not so much as one bit of shade under which to find some relief (though they do sometimes turn on a sprinkler which waters a few of them). It's a disgrace.
I looked but can't find any pictures of the place on line, but let me tell you, it's filthy. You know you're coming to it just from the unmistakable stench alone.
I don't know how it's legal.

when times were a little tough for my family my dad had a part-time job in firebaugh [not far from fresno] when i was a kid and we had to split time between there and the bay area when i was growing up. i guess that made him a migrant worker...anyway, i remember that it was hot as hell, infested with all manner of infernal insects, and the stench from coalinga was enough to make anyone a vegan...and the men all dressed like cowboys and had these dead eyes.
some friends of mine in a band toured through fresno and got all their guitars stolen -- nothing like this ever happened to them in any of their "big city" gigs.
if someone lit off a "dirty bomb" in the area no one would notice, probably....

Oh Fuck. I do not know what to do with all this story after story bullshit. They will do whatever they want and me reading about it every hour does not stop them. I am ready to do something.
