To be fair, traditionalists in the Anglican churches (particularly the C of E) have been vocally concerned about the ascension of Charles to the head of the church ever since his divorce. Around the time of the divorce, this was not just a wingnut issue, either; I recall being in Britain and seeing a BBC special on whether the church might be disestablished, or might somehow have another person than the monarch at its head, when Charles became King.
Not that this makes me any more sympathetic to the anti-gay contingent (nor that it matters, since I'm not Anglican), but this particular charge of hypocrisy might not stick very well.

Is it certain that Chaz will become King? I thought I read "somewhere" that the Queen was torqued at his behavior and was going to hang on until passing it to Prince William(?)
Of course, I find the royal family about as stupid and boring as the de facto royals in the US - in hollywood.

These people crack me up. It's as if they had never *heard* of Henry VIII, founder of the Church of England.
Especially when Chuck's older sis, Anne didn't get married in the C of E because of her divorce from her first husband.

Well, Charles is descended from the Stuarts. Of course if you want to bring back the Catholic Stuarts, if I remember correctly their claim has been inherited by the Wittelsbachs (the former ruling house of Bavaria)...
Reminds me of a line from G.B. Shaw's play about Charles II where he tells his brother Jamie that he'll not die in an upstart church like the C of E.
